Mail Order Bride: Western Romance Novel Read Free: The Heiress and the Indian Scout - Chapter 1 (Part 2)

“Is that how you married Will Woodward? Did he advertise for a mail order bride?” asked Isabelle.
Will had been a former outlaw who had found God after a wound that had proved near fatal. He believed that God’s grace had saved his life and had given up a life of crime to help others in need.
“No… He came to me like an angel when Lynn and I were in a very desperate situation,” said Anne as she remembered the past.
“I never, in my wildest dreams, expected to marry a former outlaw. I can’t imagine what my father would have had to say to that if he had been alive,” she said smiling.
“We had been kidnapped by the man who proposed to me. He had plans to sell us. We would not be safe and sound here today if not for Will,” she told her listeners.
“You know Will believes that God saved his life. I believe that God brought me here to marry Will even though I didn’t know when I left Hunston,” she continued.
“God’s ways are indeed mysterious,” said Lisa as she remembered her own past and how she had defeated the evil plans of her wily neighbor Horace Jackson to marry Tyler. She knew that Tyler had been an answer to her prayers and that she would never have escaped from Mr. Jackson if God had not heard her desperate pleas in her hour of need.
“I wonder if God has a plan for me here in Hunston,” said Lynn staring dreamily at the wall. “He had Will for you, and Tyler for Lisa… and maybe Josh is meant for Isabelle,” she said winking at Isabelle who blushed rosily.
“Well… Lydia did ask me to help you find a husband here when you were in Hunston. Perhaps I should look around and see if I know any eligible bachelors,” she said smiling at Lynn.
“Indeed, Lisa has eligible brothers-in-law and Tyler’s friends who are still single,” said Isabelle.
“Well… there’s Ryan and Tom and….” Lisa rattled off a long list of names of young men she knew.
“And I can’t marry them all,” Lynn giggled.
“Who would I choose and how?” she asked. “It was easier for you two. You weren’t faced with so many options. Besides I’m so busy with running the hotel these days that I don’t have the time to socialize and meet anyone,” said Lynn.
Anne and Lynn had bought a hotel in Seven Pines and now that Anne was married, Lynn ran it. Although she lived in town, she came up to the hills to visit Anne and Will in their home frequently.
Spencer’s Hotel and Restaurant was one of the thriving businesses in town and Lynn thought thankfully of Kohana, a young Indian scout, who helped her manage the business. Sometimes, Kohana accompanied the town’s posse on expeditions out of town or to chase down criminals with the Crawford brothers but today he was in town and would come to take her back to the hotel.
